OhioMeansJobs (OMJ) of Clermont County, is certified as a One Stop Employment & Training Center by the Bureau of Workforce Investment Act in June 1999. OhioMeansJobs of Clermont County is funded through the Dept. of Job & Family Services. The framework for the center began with a workforce development initiative between the Clermont County Department of Job & Family Services and the Clermont Chamber of Commerce in the fall of 1997.
Clermont County DJFS administers a variety of programs and services to help county residents obtain self-sufficiency by joining the workforce and moving up the economic ladder.
OMJ offers tools and resources that help job-seekers and employers find a job or employees in Clermont County.
Services, offered to both businesses and individuals, are designed for universal access. The facility houses a reception area, a computer lab, a community resource room with internet access, training classrooms, a business services unit and staff that represent a number of programs focused on workforce development through a vast number of community services and partnerships.
The OhioMeansJobs center is supported by Butler-Clermont-Warren Workforce Development Board for Area 12. The OhioMeansJobs center plays an important role in the region’s economic development.

Comprehensive Case Management Employment Program
The Comprehensive Case Management Employment Program (CCMEP) is a dynamic, year-round program for Clermont County residents ages 14 to 24 who have incomes within 200 percent of the federal poverty level. CCMEP services include case management, referrals, and barrier removal in order to move clients forward on an education or career pathway. Participants will receive an in-depth individualized assessment and a case plan created specifically for them.
Eligible Youth
- 16 to 24 years of age
- Household income within 200 percent of the federal poverty level (eligible for Temporary Assistance to Needy Families)
- a minor, parenting a minor child or residing in a home with a minor child
- Clermont County resident
- Have a barrier to self-sufficiency (e.g., living in poverty, in juvenile system, parenting, lack of basic skills)
Program Elements
- Tutoring, study skills training, instruction and dropout prevention
- Alternative secondary school services, or drop-out recovery services
- Paid and unpaid work experiences that include academic and occupational education
- Occupational skills training
- Education with workforce-preparation activities
- Community service and peer-centered activities encouraging responsibility and positive social and civic behaviors
- Supportive services
- Adult mentoring
- Drug and alcohol abuse counseling and referral
- Financial literacy education
- Entrepreneurial skills training
- Career awareness, counseling, and exploration services
- Activities that help youth prepare for and transition to postsecondary education and training

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act
Through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), we can help fund eligible job seekers with educational programs or on-the-job training to prepare them for in-demand careers.
This program is designed to help job seekers access and afford relevant education, training, and supportive services to advance and succeed in their career.
We can assist with up to 2 years of training for in-demand occupations. This can include a short-term certificate, Associate degree, or the last 2 years of a Bachelor’s degree.
WIOA provides 14 – 24-year-old in-school and out-of-school youth with resources to help them gain the required job readiness, educational attainment, and job knowledge for transitioning into the workplace.

Things to Keep in Mind
- Training is provided by the educational institutions approved by the State of Ohio.
- The WIOA program is NOT an entitlement program and all participants must meet the eligibility and suitability criteria.
- Special funding for training and education is available to dislocated workers who have lost their job through layoffs, plant closings, or foreign competition.
